What this project is about and why it matters.

Fine Luxury Property is a premium property website for a UK-based client specializing in luxury real estate across Portugal, Spain, Mauritius, Dubai, Thailand, France, Cyprus, Croatia, and more. The platform showcases high-value properties to an international audience of buyers and investors.

The key technical innovation is an automated property import pipeline. Properties are bulk-imported from external data sources directly into WordPress, keeping the entire catalog always up to date without any manual data entry. Combined with aggressive image optimization and performance tuning, the result is a fast, professional platform that generates strong leads.

The Challenge

What made this project technically demanding.

01 Automated Property Import

The client receives property data from multiple external sources in varying formats. We needed to build a pipeline that automatically fetches, normalizes, and imports this data into WordPress — handling hundreds of properties with dozens of images each.

02 Image Optimization at Scale

Luxury properties have many high-resolution photos. Each property might have 20-40 images. With hundreds of properties, we're dealing with thousands of images that all need to be optimized, resized, and served efficiently.

03 Performance with Large Database

With a large property database, complex queries, and thousands of images, maintaining fast load times was critical. The site needed to feel snappy despite the heavy data — especially for SEO and mobile users.

The Solution

How we approached and solved the problems.

We built a custom import engine that runs on a scheduled cron job. It connects to external property feeds, normalizes the data structure, detects new/updated/removed properties, and syncs them into WordPress. The system handles image downloads, thumbnail generation, and metadata mapping automatically.

For image optimization, we implemented a multi-layer approach: server-side compression on upload, responsive srcset images, lazy loading, and WebP conversion. This reduced the average page weight by over 60% while maintaining visual quality.

Performance was achieved through query optimization, object caching, CDN configuration, and aggressive VPS tuning. The site maintains sub-2-second load times even on property listing pages with dozens of images.
